FRIDAY 13 JUNE - FARMING FIELD DAY  8:30am-4:30pm

Friday is our industry and schools day where you can connect with experts, explore new advancements, career development opportunities and attend hands-on demonstrations designed to support and grow operations. Local high school students will also be in attendance taking part in a career workshop with local industry experts.

STALLHOLDER DEMOS

Location: At Stallholder sites

​

10am: Raising Chickens with Laursam Farmstead Site 43 - Learn the basics of raising happy, health chickens at home - from choosing the right breed and setting up a coop, to feeding, care and egg collection.

​

11am: Drone Demonstrations with Precision Ag Solutions Site 71B – This practical session will demonstrate how drones are used in agriculture to enhance production and improve farm management.

 

1pm: Maintaining the Backbone of the Farm: Garden Tools & Chainsaw Care with Dover & Sons Site 80 – Discover practical tips for sharpening and maintaining your essential tools to keep your farm or property running smoothly. A quick hands on session to ensure your equipment stays reliable and ready for every job.

 

2pm: Bee Keeping with Bee All Natural Site 37 – Learn about the process of harvesting honey, from extraction to spinning, in this practical overview of how beekeepers collect, process and prepare honey form the hive to the jar.​​

9.30am:  Beast Breakdown with The Butcher Co.

Learn how a beast is butchered into various cuts of meat, and gain an insight into the the trade of being a Butcher from one of the best.

1:45pm: ​​Panel Discussion - Innovation in Action: Tackling Industry Challenges - This panel brings together thought leaders from the sector to explore the common challenges facing our industry today - from climate impacts and resource management to market pressures and shifting consumer expectations. Throughout the panel discussion we’ll see how innovation, whether in the form of new products, circular economy models, or advanced technologies is helping the industry adapt and thrive in an ever-changing landscape.

Boonah Working Stock Dog Club - Training working dogs for herding livestock. Learn techniques used to enhance dogs’ abilities working in paddocks & yards.

Champion Performance Training - Horsemanship and horse training demonstrations in preparation for working cattle

Times: 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm

 

Firehorse Inspirations – Exploring liberty work with horses and pushing the limits of what is thought possible in the horse-human relationship. Times: 10am-3pm.

 

Milbong & District Tractor Club – Watch tractors and machinery of days gone by work in the field.

Beaudesert State High School - Stud cattle display and information of their Equine program.

Times: Continuous 10am-3pm

 

Hawthorne Speckle Park Stud - Stud cattle display. Visit their site to enter the competition for ‘Guess the weight of the Bull’ for your chance to win a $1000 AllClass Kubota voucher. Winner drawn at 3:30pm.

Although Saturday has a much bigger line up for the littlies, your little ones will love the Peak Patch Farm animal nursery with over 80 baby animals to hug and cuddle (gold coin donation), AllClass Kubota Mini Tractors to test out, Fire Horse Inspirations Pony Rides and our Mini Bowling Alley.

1.30pm - Jasmine Urban Farm Growing Food Where We Live: Building Resilience Through Urban Farming – Take the guess work out of growing your own fruit and vegetables at home and discover the benefits of reducing waste through urban composting systems.

2.30pm: Hawthorne Speckle Park Stud with Kent Wells - Hear more about the genetics and science behind the much sought after Hawthorne Speckle Park breed and it's point of difference to other cattle breeds.
